A good 70 kilometres of trails ranging from easy to moderately difficult invite you to explore the beautiful natural landscapes. Right at the top: the Gschnitztal valley, which has been awarded the cross-country ski trail seal of approval. It has a flat, 18-kilometre-long valley trail in classic and skating style, which is fun for beginners and passionate cross-country skiers alike. The route is particularly characterised by the impressive panoramic views of the peaks of the Stubai Alps. The rustic villages of Gschnitz and Trins offer refreshment stops, while the Gasthof Feuerstein (Gschnitz) and the Liftstüberl (Trins) provide depot lockers and WC facilities.
Classic-style high-altitude cross-country trails can be found on the Bergeralm and at Maria Waldrast. The latter is a circular trail that reaches up to 1,770 metres above sea level - with great views of the Wipptal, Stubaital and Innsbruck. The trails near the mountaineering village of Schmirn and in the Valser and Obernbergtal valleys also impress with their beautiful location. Use of the cross-country ski trails is free of charge.
