#13 Loipe Rundkurs Weißenbach Lech
****
Nature-close classic circuit along the Lech in Weißenbach.
Characteristics
The easy, classic Weißenbach Lech circuit starts at the Moosberglift or at the sports field. From the starting point at the lift, the trail first crosses the Weißenbach and then winds its way along the edge of the village and past the picturesque Lourdes Chapel before crossing the Lechtal road near the quarry.
The main part of the trail along the Lech reveals the true beauty of the last wild river of the Northern Limestone Alps. Here, surrounded by wide gravel banks and dense floodplain forests, cross-country skiers experience unspoiled nature in all its glory. Along this section, one can enjoy relaxed views of the unique flora and fauna of the floodplain forests, accompanied by the gentle flow of the Lech. Circling the Lechausee is the highlight of this stage, where the stillness of the water and the picturesque surroundings create an unforgettable atmosphere.
The return path leads across the expansive fields of Weißenbach back to the starting point. This passage, through the open field, contrasts with the densely wooded Lech riverbank and completes the cross-country skiing experience with a panoramic view of the surrounding landscape.
This circuit offers a perfect mix of unspoiled landscape and relaxed cross-country skiing, ideal for beginners and connoisseurs who want to experience the quiet beauty of the Naturparkregion Reutte.
Trail Entry and Parking
The entrance is possible at the Moosberglift or at the sports field. Free parking is available at both locations. Public access to the trail is provided by the bus stops "Weißenbach a. L. Gh Bären" and "Weißenbach a. L. Doktorhaus," as well as other nearby stops in the village. More information on the timetable can be found at www.vvt.at.
Connecting Trails
The trail is a hub for numerous other routes: Direct connections are available via the connecting trail Klausenwald - Weißenbach to the Klausenwald circuit and via the connecting trail Weißenbach - Höfen to the Höfener Feld circuit. The starting point at the Moosberglift is also shared with the Weißenbach Moosberg circuit. Furthermore, crossing the Johannes Bridge provides access to the 42-kilometer-long Lechtalloipe and its network of trails.
Refreshment Stops
In the center of Weißenbach, just a few minutes' walk from the trail, cozy refreshment options such as the Pizzeria Dobler and the Pizzeria & Café TREFF.
Notes
Please note that the section of the circuit between the crossing of the Lechtal road near the quarry along the Lech to the Weißenbach Bridge is designed as a shared trail. Alongside cross-country skiers, pedestrian traffic is also to be expected on the rolled winter hiking trail next to the classic track. This also applies to the connecting trail towards Höfen up to the junction just before the entrance to the village. Caution is also advised when crossing the Lechtal road twice (the cross-country skis must be unstrapped here)!
