Route description

High alpine via ferrata, which leads to one of the highest peaks of the Loferer Steinberge. Magnificent ascent from the Wehrgrubenjoch over the north side of the Nackter Hund into the Scharte to "Heinrich und dem Löwen" and further over the south-east ridge to the summit of the Mitterhorn (2504 m) in the Loferer Steinberg.

Just the right thing for a challenging combination of via ferrata and mountain tour with a unique panorama! And if 1500 m should be too much for a day tour, the managed Schmidt-Zabierow Hut (overnight accommodation) is the ideal starting point for this via ferrata and many other climbing tours. At this base, you can also try out all levels of via ferrata difficulty from A to F in a via ferrata school!

Be careful at the beginning of the route in case of snow in early summer!
