Route description

The Kufstein via ferrata takes you along the north side of the Wilder Kaiser up to the Unteres Gamskarköpfl (1,975 m). The via ferrata is divided into three sections: across a ledge; a very steep middle section; and finally a very
exposed crossing leading directly to the summit of the Unteres Gamskarköpfl. The via ferrata (difficulty level D) is equipped with very few stirrups. After climbing for another hour you reach the Sonneck summit (2,260m).

Requirements: a good head for heights and surefootedness as well as very good physical condition and alpine experience are absolutely essential!
Climbing harness, via ferrata set & helmet required!

Setting out from the southern side of the Wilder Kaiser in Scheffau, this is an all-day tour that is only safe in reliably fair weather.
Alternatively, you can start the tour in the Kaisertal valley and complete it over the course of two days, spending the night in the Anton-Karg-Haus.
