We recommend because

Sporty and family-friendly via ferrata in Fernergries in the rear Kaunertal valley. The 240-metre-long route leads upwards along the rushing Rifflbach waterfall. Polished gneiss rock, slabs, a floor, two suspension bridges over the stream and vertical passages alternate. Mostly difficulty level B, two steep passages with clamps are B/C. Very well secured, therefore suitable for families with children.

Route description

The via ferrata Fernergries - in the rear Kaunertal valley impresses with its impressive scenery. Over polished glacier mica gneiss, the start of the route is at the impressive Rifflbach waterfall - in Fernergries. Starting to the left of the waterfall you cross the thundering brook over a bridge and then climb along the watercourse over slabs to a small "floor" where you can have a short rest. The 2nd part is a steep section that climbs up at a rapid pace until you reach the end of the via ferrata at the so-called "Schnapsloch".
