10 tips for a stag party in Tyrol

Celebrating the bride-to-be or groom-to-be, letting go of a stage in life and celebrating the big step with your best friends: the stag party - known locally as a stag night - is as much a part of getting married as the wedding dress and wedding cake. But it doesn't always have to be the classic party. We have collected some special ideas for a stag party in the mountains.

1st mountain experience and hut fun

A hike with an overnight stay in a mountain hut is a great start to a wedding. For a hut experience with a pinch of luxury, the KRAFTalm in the Kitzbühel Alps is an excellent address: Here you can enjoy the mountain view from the pool. Private chalets are another option - for example in the Zillertal in the lovingly renovated luxury Chalet Brandleit (bookable from one night).

2. love goes through the stomach

A cookery course is definitely a good idea before you start your life together - and if the dishes taste as good as they do on the cutter, then the stag party is well worth it. In this course, cutter captains Martin and Georg, who are normally out and about in Innsbruck with their cutter at lunchtime, show you how to prepare tasty pot dishes from all over the world.

3. action without end

Area47 in Ötztal is no longer an insider tip, but rather a renowned address for action enthusiasts. There are numerous options for an active stag party in the mountains - from rafting in the Imst gorge or on the Ötztaler Ache river to canyoning, e-motocross or wakeboarding.

4. high up, fast down into the valley: stag party for freeride fans

In winter, a freeride camp is ideal for passionate skiers and deep snow fans: An experienced guide is on hand to lead you to untracked descents, depending on the weather and snow conditions. There are also special girls-only camps for the bride and her friends in winter. The freeride camps can be booked here, among other places. Many ski schools or private mountain and ski guides in Tyrol also offer freeride tours.

5. two wheels and a sporty crew

In summer, the bike parks in the region offer plenty of flow for biking tours: The bike park in Serfaus-Fiss-Ladis, for example, also invites beginners to try it out. Private courses for a maximum of four people can be booked here. One-day or multi-day camps and workshops at all levels of difficulty can also be experienced at the Bike Republic Sölden with the Ride On bike school.

Alternatively, an "Early Ride" is also a great start: this sunrise ride in Serfaus-Fiss-Ladis takes you along the Jochtrail and Frommestrail, including impressive photo opportunities.

6. the last rehearsal before saying yes

Escape games show who can keep a cool head in stressful situations - is this a good test for your marriage? Try it out: In the escape rooms in Innsbruck, for example. Here you have one hour to solve tricky puzzles and free yourself from the game rooms. In addition to the classic escape rooms, you can also play two outdoor escape games or take part in a virtual escape game: Here you can immerse yourself in fantastic worlds using VR glasses.

7. celebrate creatively

A special stag party can be celebrated at Papelier's creative courses : a wide variety of workshops - from hand lettering and origami to stamping and bookbinding - are offered in the charming studio in the bakery in Innsbruck. Lucia and Laura are happy to organise individual, private courses on request.

8 Outstanding views: Breakfast on the mountain

Do you want to start your stag night with the best views? Then a breakfast on the mountain is just the thing. Huts that invite you to breakfast can be discovered all over the country. If you are travelling in Innsbruck, you can have breakfast or brunch close to the city at the modern Umbrüggler Alm.

The Tiroler Zugspitz Arena also offers an unusual breakfast location: here you can take the Zugspitze cable car up to the sunrise. If you prefer to sleep in, you can also reserve a table at the summit of the Zugspitze for a fondue dinner in the evening.

9. mood: completely relaxed

The most relaxing way to get in the mood for your wedding celebrations and married life is a spa day at one of the many wellness hotels in Tyrol. The Spa Hotel Zedernklang****S in Hopfgarten in East Tyrol, among others, invites you to relax in an absolutely peaceful location and inspired by nature.

10. the city lies at your feet

To toast a successful wedding day in the middle of the mountains, we recommend a change of perspective at the end: high above the rooftops of Innsbruck, you can enjoy an unrivalled view in the 360 degree café/bar. The Blaue Brigitte on the sixth floor of the Altstadthotel Weisses Kreuz is not a roof terrace bar, but rather an attic bar: the elegant, stylish bar offers surprising perspectives, cosy flair and excellent drinks.
