Tirol has plenty of high mountains, but sometimes it’s nice to go low. Summer in particular is a great time of year for a walk through one of the region’s gorges to escape the heat. Both the Galitzenklamm and the Luis-Trenker-Steig through the Pitzenklamm are top tips for all those looking for a little cooling shade.

In Paznaun, Seefeld and Pertisau am Achensee there are specially signposted cross-country skiing trails for dog owners.

On hot days we recommend the hike through the Schlossbachklamm gorge or along the Achweg Trail. And last but not least, in East Tirol you will find cow-free hikes and special walking routes aimed at dog owners.
City breaks for owners (and dogs!) interested in culture
Culture, architecture, nature and fine dining can all be found in Innsbruck. The regional capital’s historic old town, selection of restaurants and 20-minute ride up into the high mountains make for plenty of fun and adventure for dogs and their owners. Our personal tip for a cosy place to stay are these apartments in the Pradl area of the city.
