Alltag aus, Entspannung an: Umgeben von der majestätischen Bergwelt laden die schönsten Wellnesshotels Tirols zum Kraft tanken und erholen ein.
With a bit of weather luck, you can take the sporty momentum of the all-rounder month of October into the first days of November and make the most of the one or other sunny weekend for a hike. But when it gets cold outside and nature gets ready for winter, Tyrol's wellness temples beckon behind their doors. The Aqua Dome in Längenfeld has become a classic among wellness centres. The thermal spa's trademark are the bowl-shaped outdoor pools, which are grouped around the crystal-shaped part of the indoor area. If you want to relax for longer than a day in the tranquil Ötztal valley, you can also stay in the hotel's own four-star superior hotel. Guests at the Naturhotel Waldklause in Längenfeld enjoy free entry to the Aqua Dome. The Aqua Dome is actually just an additional offer at the Waldklause - with the hotel's own 1,800 square metre nature spa area, you don't even have to leave the hotel to relax.
November is the museum month par excellence. There are also exciting exhibitions to see in Tyrol away from the museums in Innsbruck and the surrounding area. The St. Anton am Arlberg Museum, for example, shows the long history of the birthplace of modern skiing. With the construction of the Arlberg tunnel and a large railway station, the town became a tourist magnet where skiing was significantly developed. In the town that is now home to the most famous ski race in the world, a museum is dedicated to the work of the artist that still characterises the appearance of Kitzbühel today. The Kitzbühel Museum houses the Alfons Walde Collection under its roof. The well-known landscape paintings by the Kitzbühel painter can be found there as well as rarely shown nudes, sketches and photographs. The view from the roof of the museum is impressive, offering a bird's eye view of the town centre houses painted according to Walde's plans. The rest of the museum is dedicated to the history of the city from the Bronze Age to the 20th century.
At the end of November, a few ski resorts in Tyrol open for the regular season. Visitors can try out the latest equipment in the test centres, explore the snow parks or attend one or two side events. Find all the information and top events for the start of winter here.
