Event Silvesterschwimmen am Achensee

The proverbial "jump into cold water" takes on a whole new dimension during the New Year's Eve swim at Lake Achensee. The daring participants jump into the lake at a water temperature of around five degrees Celsius, swim 25 meters, climb an artificial iceberg, ring the New Year's Eve bell and then swim back again. A frosty "pleasure" - and probably the most refreshing New Year's Eve tradition in the country.
