When the gates of hell are opened in Seefeld, Krampus groups from all over the Alps parade through the pedestrian zone, drumming and rattling their chains. The gruesome figures with their elaborate wooden masks, devil horns and ringing bells may be scary, but they also provide a real spectacle.
