The devil is on the loose in East Tyrol! At least at Krampus time, when shaggy fellows with their scary wooden masks, called "larvae", parade through Lienz and smaller communities. Luckily, St. Nicholas is also out and about at this time, rewarding the good and virtuous children with presents, according to tradition.
