When they arrive in the evening, magnificently decorated with their shepherds, a little tear is shed in Steeg: the healthy return of the alpine animals is celebrated here.
The arrival of the animals with their colorfully decorated heads and loud bells after their long journey down into the valley is a touching sight. The whole village looks forward to this moment and celebrates the Almabtriebstag from the morning with traditional brass band music. At the end of the day, one lucky person receives a particularly beautiful bell. It is raffled off among the guests.
