Partly still untamed, the Lech is one of the last wild rivers in the Alps to carve its way through the Lech Valley. As a result, it has been able to preserve its widely ramified, wild floodplain landscapes. Together with the mountains of the Allgäu and Lechtal Alps, this "jungle of Central Europe" characterises the nature park. Numerous plants and animals find suitable habitats here - from barren to lush, from dry to wet. The diversity of species is almost immeasurable, with a third of all 1,116 plant species native to Tyrol thriving here. Among the animals, you can find rare specimens such as stone crabs, amphibians and Koppen (small fish). People who enjoy the Tiroler Lech Nature Park are mainly those seeking relaxation, sports enthusiasts and nature lovers.
