Schwaz

Weerberg has always had a strong attachment to the divine heart of Jesus.

Description

For example, a record from 1875 states that there were two brotherhoods of the Sacred Heart, one larger and one smaller. The small one celebrated her feast on this Friday of the Sacred Heart with office and procession, the larger one held her feast on the Sunday after, that is, on the Sunday of the Sacred Heart, as well as with ministry, procession and ten-hour prayer. The missionary priest Josef Mandl from America united the large and the small brotherhood to a common brotherhood with main celebration on Herz-Jesu-Freitag, today's heart-Jesu-Fest. He donated 200 guilders to Martin Lindner (Puit) to celebrate this festival. The Brotherhood experienced a climax in 1937, when 62 people joined in a popular mission. The management of the Brotherhood is in the hands of the Sponring family (Unteraigen).

Weerberg is the only place in Tyrol to celebrate the Sacred Heart Festival every Friday after the old Tyrolean vows of 1796 and 1809, which is attended by personalities and marksmen from all over Tyrol.

In 1991, Father Otto Berktold introduced the parish festival following the procession, which has been a popular meeting place for young and old ever since.
