St. Valentin parish church

Description

At the upper end of the village centre stands the Valentin’s Church (St. Valentin, the Apostle of Rhaetia), the origins of which are said to have stood here since Christianity came to the area in around 400. There are records showing that the church was consecrated from the 11th century, when the building was extended. The current parish church dates from 1509 (consecrated in 1512 by Suffragen Bishop Stefan) and was later converted to the baroque style (18th century) and the neo-Romanesque style in 1832.
