The cave at Spannagelhaus (Spannagel Cave) is the largest marble (rock) cave in the Central Alps, is open all year round and can be explored on a guided tour. The cave guides will tell you everything you need to know about the history, age, hydrological watercourses, cave climate and animal life of this special cave. You will be amazed by the marble stratification, stalactites, crystals, erosion pots and bone finds. Important: Please pay attention to the correct clothing (sturdy clothes and shoes)
The entrance to an underground adventure is located below the Spannagelhaus at the Hintertux glacier:
the cave at the Spannagelhaus is 13 km long and it is the most important cave in the Tyrol and presents above all an insight into the high alpine karstification of the glacier regions. Discover stalagmites and stalacites, sinter formations, crystals, ribbon marble etc. on the guided tours through the cave. Visit the secret world underground.
