How is cheese, butter and yogurt made from fresh milk? The glazed show dairy in Zillertal provides clear answers, where visitors can look over the shoulder of the master dairyman at work. And in the show farm next door, children can playfully learn where milk comes from.
Around 400 alpine pastures and mountain farms supply the ErlebnisSennerei Zillertal in Mayrhofen every day. How cheese, butter, yogurt and curd cheese are made from them can be followed live behind large glass panes and with the help of audio guides and display boards: The 6,000 square meter production facility is designed as a show dairy. In the show farm right next door, cows stand in the barn, goats and sheep jump around in the hay and chickens cluck on the roost. There is also a bee pavilion where you can learn lots of interesting facts about the industrious honey suppliers. In this way, the children learn about the value of the creatures to which we owe an important part of our food.
Erlebnissennerei Zillertal – Quality, Sustainability & Animal Care Since 1954
The Kröll family is dedicated to honest quality and sustainable production. Since 1954, they've crafted high-quality products from hay milk sourced from cows, sheep, and goats with great care and passion. Working closely with local hay milk farmers, minimizing transport distances, and using eco-friendly packaging, their products not only taste exceptional but also respect the environment.
Visitors can get a glimpse behind the scenes at the experiential farm, with its show dairy and organic farm, and enjoy freshly refined products at the “Sennereiküche” restaurant. A piece of Zillertal can be taken home through their farm shop or online shop – bringing an authentic taste of Zillertal right to your table.
