Salvenmooskapelle

Description

Even after the Bavarians took over the land after 800 and in the Middle Ages around 1,100 AD, there were several farming estates in what is now Hochsöll, which were also called "Schwaighöfe". In return for their hard work as farmers, the landlords paid them the usual rent in kind if they farmed their "fiefs" all year round.

The stately Salvenmooser estate, which consisted of two farms, certainly also had a house or farm chapel built, where the farming family and the neighbourhood gathered for regular prayers to pray for a bountiful harvest and to ask the "peasant saints", who had been known since time immemorial, for their assistance.
