Description

Landeck castle is located on the Via Claudia Augusta and was probably built in the first half of the 13th century on the towering rock above the Inn by the Counts of Ulten and later expanded by Count Meinhard II of Tyrol - Gorizia. 1282 was here already the seat of the court Landeck with a princely caretaker. The glory days experienced the castle under the Knights of Schrofenstein.
