The Sixenhof local history museum is a typical Tirolean farmhouse from around 1800 that gives an insight into rural life. It has living spaces, livestock areas, and storage under one roof - a characteristic design of the time.
21 rooms spread over 3 storeys in a typical Tirolean farmhouse comprise the Sixenhof village museum. Various exhibitions showcase how people used to work, hunt and live centuries ago. Numerous exhibits from hunting, fishing, firefighting, shipping and the timber industry document the lives and times of the forebears in this region.
For over 20 years in the Advent and Christmas season the centuries-old barn of the historic Sixenhof has been the venue for a nativity scene complete with life-size figures and live animals. Visitors will be presented an alpine version of the Christmas story.
