Kaufmannkapelle

Description

In ancient times, the path to the southern side of Eiberg led from Lengfelden over the so-called "Roman bridge" up to Hoheneiberg and out to the farms of Kaufmann (Kafma) and Assmann (Åssma). Because of the remoteness, the ancestors decided to build a chapel where people gathered for the customary rosary and prayer of thanksgiving when they had mastered the difficult crossings, e.g. from Kufstein, unscathed. Today, people meet for a traditional May devotion.
