Attraction Imperial Gardens

The Imperial Gardens are the green heart of Innsbruck. The park borders on the Imperial Palace and is also near the bottom station of the Nordkettenbahnen lifts. Are you looking for a cool place to relax or have a picnic? If so, simply choose a spot on a bench in the shade of the old trees and watch as the world goes by.

The Imperial Gardens have existed since the early 15th century. At that time, however, only imperial highnesses, princes and members of the court were allowed in. Even the Habsburg Empress Maria Theresa is said to have done some "gardening" here: she had certain areas of the gardens redesigned. Today, the Imperial Gardens are open for everyone to enjoy. Play a game of open-air chess or listen to music in the pavilion.
