In 1998, the Schützenkompanie (mountain infantry company) Radfeld decided to build a new chapel.
Costs estimated at over ATS 400.000,00 seemed to be an unsurmountable hurdle. But fortunately, the "Grasausläuter" ("Ringing out the Grass", an old custom where, in spring, children symbolically drive out winter in noisy processions with bells) and the "Fahnengemeinschaft" (Flag Association) contributed financially to the chapels construction. The project could finally be realised. Numerous companies and private donors also contributed to the chapels construction, which was completed after a little more than a year.
The newly built chapel was named "Herz Jesu in der Au" and was solemnly consecrated on 1 July 2000.
