Description

Through the wide, sparsely populated mountain ridge between the Lech and Inn valleys, a road leads through the remote Bschlabertal and over the Hahntennjoch. Many curves, rugged rock walls, and steep abysses make it especially popular among motorcyclists.

Coming from Imst, the high-mountain road to Hahntennjoch is characterized by a barren landscape of rocks and rubble. To reach the pass at 1,894 meters above sea level, more than 1,000 vertical meters must be overcome, with gradients of up to 19 percent. Especially for motorcyclists, it’s a winding pleasure, while for road cyclists, it’s a sporting challenge. On the west side, the Hahntennjoch reveals its charming side with the picturesque Bschlabertal. It descends through forests and meadows down to the Lechtal. In the villages of Pfafflar, Boden, and Bschlabs, there are places to stop and rest. Otherwise, one should simply enjoy the local mountain world. The pass road is open depending on weather conditions from late May to late October. In winter, the section between Boden and Imst is closed.
