Attraction Fasnachtshaus Nassereith

Open today
Nassereith

An eerily beautiful museum: more than 450 artistically carved wooden masks ("larvae") adorn the walls of the Fasnachtshaus Nassereith. Although the Nassereither Schellerlaufen only takes place every three years, the historical roots and cultural significance of Tyrolean customs can be experienced here all year round.

We recommend because

  • more than 450 artistically carved wooden masks
  • vivid presentation of the Fasnacht customs
  • multimedia presentation

Description

Nassereith is one of the few places in Tyrol where the old traditional carnival customs are still very much alive, in the Tyrolean Oberland. For weeks, this old custom keeps the whole town under its spell and transforms the small Tyrolean community into the stronghold of Fasnacht.
For several years now, this impressive custom has been impressively experienced in the new Fasnachtshaus all year round and in combination with state-of-the-art presentation technology. Visitors can admire colorful costumes, old traditions and more than 450 impressive wooden masks of well-known local artists. In a realistic panorama show, you can experience the connection between past and present of Nassereither Fasnacht. Old views, depictions and utensils from the past lead us to the Fasnacht of the present. Let yourself be surprised by our breathtaking folklore performance.
