Blaiknerkapelle

Description

The Blaikner Chapel, named after the farm of the same name, has been in existence for over 250 years.

The "Blaike" - derived from cleared land - is said to have been furnished with figures from the once Gothic parish church (ca. 1450 - ca.1770). There used to be farms on the plateau of the Bromberg and the Brandstadl with year-round cultivation. (e.g. Schörgenstätt, Marchental;) who gathered in the chapel together with the Blaikner family for the rosary, saint's feasts etc.. In the 1980s, a new chapel was built on the initiative of the rural youth, whose patron saints are St. Barbara and St. Leonhard.
