Attraction Aufleger Chapel

The small listed chapel is located on the main road on the outskirts of Radfeld.

Description

According to legend, the Aufleger chapel is the memorial chapel of a mother who found her slain son on this spot. The chapel probably dates back to the second half of the 17th century. For many years, pilgrims from Radfeld gathered here for Nativity of the Blessed Virgin Mary celebrations before setting off on the long journey to Mariastein. Even today, pilgrimages are made from the village to this chapel.
