Antoniuskapelle Rettenschöss

Description

"Antonius greets the Koasa," one says in Rettenschöss. What is meant is the fantastic location of the historic Antoniuskapelle on the Kreuzbichl in front of the panorama of the Zahmer Kaiser. In 1682 and 1688, the Antoniuskapelle was made of wood; it was replaced by a masonry in 1739. In 1744 voluntary helpers built a court next door. The house served as a school until 1931. In 1969, the old school house was almost completely removed and replaced by a new one. By the way, the name Rettenschöss speaks linguistically on the "red mountain / earth fall".
