Arrival by public transport
Take bus 501, 502 or 503 to the Rum-Murstraße stop, then change to local bus 509 and get off at Rum-Naturpark Karwendel.
Nature Experience Trail Rum - Experience and feel the wonder of nature at 16 stations.
Under the motto “Experience, explore and enjoy nature”, 16 varied stations invite visitors to discover the natural world with all their senses. The adventure trail starts at Römerpark and leads along Holunderweg to the forest playground.
From the “Archimedes’ screw” at Römerpark and “optical phenomena” along Holunderweg to the “wooden xylophone”, “balance trail” and “listening tube”, there is always something new to discover and try out along the way. The interactive stations engage the senses and offer new perspectives on nature.
The Rum adventure trail lies on the edge of the Karwendel Nature Park. After Hohe Tauern National Park, it is Austria’s second-largest protected area and provides a valuable habitat for an exceptional variety of plants and animals.

Just above the centre of the market town of Rum, near the Canisiusbrünnl inn, there is a free car park that is also the starting point for numerous hikes. Right next to it, you’ll find an adventure forest playground, a nature trail, a forestry trail and a barefoot trail, which opened in 2008.
