The views in the resort of Hochkössen near the German border stretch all the way from magnificent mountain peaks to Lake Chiemsee in Bavaria. Here, at 1,750 metres above sea level, the snow is plentiful and the seasons are long. The network of pistes itself caters for all abilities, from beginners to experts, but it is families in particular who are drawn to this corner of Tirol. One of the reasons is the Skischule Kössen with its team of qualified instructors, who will be happy help children and beginners take their first turns on snow. Hochkössen is also used by racing teams to train slalom and giant slalom. The Bärenhütte hut and the Gipfelhaus restaurant at the top of the resort serve excellent local food.
