Mountain Bike Safari Stage 07: Fulpmes – Steinach am Brenner

Starting Point: Fulpmes

The route starts from Fulpmes, following small roads and paths to Neustift. Shortly before reaching the village of Neustift the route starts to climb, gaining 100m of height, before the trail weaves down to the village center with some tight hairpin turns. Cross the village to get to the base terminal of Elferbahn Gondola which you ride to the top, 1,800 meters above sea level.

From the top terminal, ride the “black” graded trail down to Stubai Valley. In the valley, keep to its southern side and pedal towards Mieders. In Mieders, ride the 8-passenger gondola to the top with your bike.

From the top terminal, a very short descent deposits you at the foot of a climb, gaining another 100m of height. A final, fast and thrilling descent brings you down to Matrei. There, take the new cycle path that meanders across Wipptal Valley to Steinach, off the heavily trafficked Brenner Federal Road.
