Trail description
The hike begins with a ride on the Ehrwalder Almbahn cable car up to the Ehrwalder Alm hut. From the top of the cable car, hikers follow a flat trail into the valley to the stream. From there, they cross onto the opposite slope and ascent diagonally into the Seebenwald forest (short ascent; follow the signs for "Seebenalm"). The route then continues either along the wide trail through the Seebenwald forest and past "Ganghofers Rast" or, for even more spectacular views, along the narrower trail towards the Seebensee lake. From the Seebenalm hut it is then just a short climb up to the beautiful lake itself.
Return along the same route.
Tip! From the Seebensee, hikers have the option of continuing to the Coburger Hütte hut (approx. 40 minutes). Just below the hut there is another attractive mountain lake, the Drachensee. Return along the same route.
